Using the pulsed mode operation in OptisonĀ® Beam Analyzer it is possible to visualize and quantify images of acoustic field generated by single element. The circular shape on the left is the outline of a curved array transducer, and the partial circle to its right is the wave front generated by a single element after a 20 µS delay. From the image the effective aperture of the single element can be calculated and any possible crosstalk can be inferred. By pulsing individual elements in the array it is easy to detect any weak or inactive ones.
